Out of convenience an iPhone app has been created that generates a web traffic report using the web servers raw log files. While services like Google Analytics provide excellent statistics, they are unable to report on everything (such as pages without tracking on them, web services, etc.). Hosting accounts generally also come with free stats, but those are typically limited to being generated only once per day.

The downside to such an app is the data transfer of the log file in order to generate the report, so it's intended for 3G and WiFi users who's daily log files grow to only a few megabytes. But on the positive side, it's more convenient and you control when the report is refreshed (generated reports are cached).

The app has not been submitted to the app store yet (and may never be).

More info about the app is at our unlinked landing page for it: http://www.motacore.com/iWebLog.aspx.

Is this something any of you site owners would have an interest in?

There's a pepper (plugin) for Mint that allows for viewing of the Mint page on the iPhone. If you want to see an example, point your iPhone to http://fingergaming.com/mint/

It works very well, and shows you the sections you are interested in with a tap on it. It's not native, but perhaps a native app will be made someday.

ehhhh not really. i rarely ever need to look at raw server logs unless something fishy is going on.

all my sites already run on a content management system (anywhere from drupal, textpattern, even wordpress etc etc) and they all have their own logging system. so unless your app can magically tap into each of these i fail to see the point of this app, at least for me.
