I'm traveling to Singapore for about 3 and a half weeks this summer and I'm wondering if I should bring my iPhone. It's currently locked to AT&T, but if I unlock it, should I be able to get a prepaid sim card or something that I can use for a few weeks while I'm there? Any recommendations on a carrier?

Hi, u can buy a pre-paid SIM card easily in Singapore, e.g. 7-11 and any convenience stores. But note, once iPhone unlocked, can't update fr Apple. It will end up locked again.

Right, but I'm planning on selling it while I'm here and getting the 3G when I get back to the states, so updating isn't an issue for me.
Any recommendations for a carrier?

Singapore has 3 mobile carriers: SingTel, M1 and StarHub (in order of date of establishment. SingTel is like the national carrier with strong network. Any one of these is good enuf.

btw, how much do you plan to sell your iPhone? Was it purchase from US AT&T in 2008? FYI, there are an estimated 60,000 cracked iPhones currently in circulation here.

I actually bought it a few weeks after it came out in the states. Hopefully I can sell it for S$400 or so, which would cover the cost of getting a new 3G one. I'd certainly be happy with S$300 though.

S$300 sounds reasonable. Any pics and is yours the 16GB unlocked version? Condition good? No scratches?
How do u find the phone functionality so far? I read it can't fwd SMS and no MMS support (even for iPhone 3G version).
