Just reacquired a silver 6gb mini today so that I can compact flash mod it, looking at the 64gb or the 128gb cards. I know they are expensive but this is why I bought the mini.

My father has a blue iPod mini which he bought in 2005. Its 4GB hard drive broke in 2007, so I replaced it with an 8GB CF card. He still uses it until now, along with his 32GB iPhone 3GS. :)

I've got one sitting here on my nightstand. Hasn't seen much action lately, but I've had my eye on a few CF cards.

Yeah, the original thread was from a couple of years ago, but there's no rules to replying to a zombie thread, is there?

Anyways, we still use our 6GB iPod mini in the kitchen. We have a speaker set up for it and, from time to time, the little ones like to listen to their Backyardigans music.

The thing that strikes me now is how frigg'n big it is. It's not comfortable to hold at all. It's bulky, thick, and heavy. Yet, when it came out, it was the state of the art. Nothing with that much storage was that small. My my my ... how times have changed (while looking at the iPod nano 6G).

Mine has a permanent place in the car. In fact, I just bought a new battery and 32 GB CF to upgrade it.

Great product that keeps on going.

Gave mine to my sister when her 1G shuffle got the flashing green/orange light blues recently. I bought my other sister a blue one when they came out and she has never used it. It is probably lying around in its box somewhere in her house.

It is by far the roughest sounding iPod, so only has nostalgia value really.

my mom still uses her pink one that I got her for mother's day (a while ago) :)

no problems at all!

The Mimi sucked lol JK but it was and is the only iPod I have never owned. Two different iPod 160gb classics (first one was the 2007 model and died after 3 years of very very very heavy use second was the 2009 model thinner) a nano I wear as a watch second gen 20gb iPod (wich I still own works but never used) 40gb third gen iPod (bought by my friend who had lost my 20gb fourth gen ipod died after about 2 years was replaced by fith gen ipod) a 20gb fourth gen ipod (lost by my friend) 30gb fith gen iPod (headphone jack went out sold on ebay) and a touch (never really used so I sold on ebay)when I got my iPhone yep the only iPod I have never owned. Granted I don't own some of these iPods and some I do this list dates back to 2003 I think.

I just used mine for the past year in the car. The battery is completely toast, and I have to keep it plugged in to a car charger at all times, but the FM Transmitter I bought for it back in the day still works. Definitely took a heck of a beating, I've dropped it more than anything else and it's still in basic working condition. Probably one of the best built electronics I've owned.
