What are you looking for? Something to jot down and organize thoughts in or something for time management?

I tried Bear for a while and it did everything I wanted DayOne to do, except password-protect notes/the app itself... so I went back to DayOne. But if you don’t need password-protected entries, give it a try!

Resurrecting this in the hopes that after 3 years, there's some decent alternatives to DayOne app? Any updates on the recommended apps above? (Dyrii, Journal, Grid Diary, etc...)

Take a look at Bear https://bear.app It now has the ability to encrypt individual notes. Also take a look at Agenda https://agenda.com It is one of the best writing apps I have seen and it is free. You pay for any extra features offered, although the free version is already power packed.
