Now that the unlocking service from O2 has been out there for a while I was wondering if anyone has had any success in getting a PAYG phone unlocked that's less than 12 months old.

I currently have mine JB'd and unlocked and ironically running with an Orange SIM. I've checked my O2 T&Cs and there is nothing in there about min credit having to be bought over 12 months. To date I've bought £0 credit from O2. And I'm not ever going to by any (apart from £15 to have it unlocked - albiet begrudgingly).

Even if O2 stick to their guns I'll still not buy any credit from them, and just unlock on the 12month anniversary of me buying my 3GS. I'm thinking of putting this to them, but as it's all done by a faceless web form I'm guessing there's not much chance to do so...

If anyone has heard about how to circumnavigate this caveat of theirs, or has somehow pursuade them to provide the unlock I'd love to hear about it.

Thanks
