How is your experience?
You are still on this I see :)
Do you finally know if you can do without Mac OSX? Only if you know that to be true, then I suggest visiting this sub-reddit. You will get all the stuff you need to know about these machines.

I personally have a T470. I love the hardware and I believe it is better designed than the MBP 2015 that I have. Great keyboard and user serviceable. I don't like Windows so I have POP OS running on it; this has obvious disadvantages such as lack of quality software. However, since I am using this solely as my development machine, it does not matter at all. I am enjoying coding on this thing...I can type on it for hours and hours. The best part was I got this for 900$ including a 3 year, next day onsite warranty.

If I do without Mac OS, at least I will need to buy educational license of Illustrator and Photoshop every year.

I have been using Apple's products for so long that when I checked the price of Windows laptops, I found that Apple's MBP are at least $1K more expensive.

The money that you potentially save NOT buying the MBP will make up for it

I can also use pen and the touch display on Windows version of Illustrator and Photoshop, I guess...

Yes. And potentially cheaper repairs if/when the ThinkPad breaks

So those so-called excellent after sales services have actually already been paid when we purchased the MBP. With the money of two MBP, we can buy at least 3 windows laptops with the same or better specifications?

Just had a T480 (work machine) a week ago.

Been using Lenovo T- og X-series for work for decades - employers in my business really like them.

The T480 works like a champ - just like expected. Keyboard has slightly more feedback than previous keyboard - which is all good.

Been installing all kinds of programs; didn't encounter any non-compatible drivers whatever.
