Obviously, Apple finally lifting the VOIP restriction is awesome and iCall looked like the most promising app..so I tried this out but the app totally sucks!

I can't even make calls with this stupid thing on wifi, let alone 3G...

Has anyone had any success with VOIP calling applications (icall or anything else) on wifi and 3G?

Just about to cancel my iCall subscription...biggest POS ever..

Thanks!

works great for me no problems with it what so ever on my home WIFI :) 3GS 32 gig none JB

I downloaded it this morning. It's ok. I called my mom from my home wifi. She said i sounded normal on her end and she sounded mostly normal on my end, but it dropped the call twice for some reason. Full wifi signal too. The call didn't stop like a normal dropped call as the timer kept going, but there was no one on the other end. My mom was on a land line. I then called my girlfriend who has a 3gs aswell and she said her voice echoed. So I guess it would work in a pinch if your low on minutes or don't have a cell signal for whatever reason, but I doubt I'll be using it much in current form.

Not recomended

I tried it once..very disapionted...The sound on my end was very low quality. I did not personally know the person I called so I didn't ask how it sounded. Vonage so far is my choice for VOIP on iphone!

Ok, it looks like there's a time limit that you can talk if you use the free version. That's the reason it must have dropped the calls. I wonder if android phones have apps like this that are completely free?
