Any Major Problems for Pro Graphic Designer Users ?

Hi to all....

Any Pro Graphic Designer Users out there update to Mountain Lion using apps like Quark 9, CS 6 Suite, Suitcase Fusion 4...? how did you get on... any problems... did you have to re-install all the apps not supported by Gatekeeper...? or did they just work after the install ?

Any comments most welcome... I have always updated the same day of an Apple OSX release... but I am very much worried about this whole Gatekeeper app and the problems it could cause my workflow.

I have OSX Mountain Lion all ready to install... but trying to hold off to get more information before I jump in...

After 25 years of using the Mac... I'm finally getting sense... wait to find out first before INSTALLING!! lol

If you use multimonitor support with monitors in a rotated orientation (portrait) it appears to be broken in Mtn Lion.

Works fine in landscape mode, but as soon as you try to run them in portrait orientation you get a black screen.

This is after a PRAM reset and fresh install on a mac pro 3.1.

Any comments most welcome... I have always updated the same day of an Apple OSX release... but I am very much worried about this whole Gatekeeper app and the problems it could cause my workflow.

It takes about 2 seconds to disable it completely and have your Mac behave as it always has.

Just upgraded from Lion to Mountain Lion this morning and all CS apps seems fine. We don't use Quark.

But Suitcase Fusion 2 broke. I'm downloading the SF4 trial right now and hoping that fixes it.

From my experience, upgrades ALWAYS affect fonts...

Okay. Have installed the free trial of Fusion 4 and it seems to work.
Make sure you reboot after the installation. It may not immediately find all your previous settings, but give it a minute.

this is odd...in photoshop CS6, when i go to 'save as'...the options don't line up. ie, if i select jpeg, it offers to save as something else.

will explore this more later (am NOT at my desk).

anyone else see this??

I upgraded this morning and have no issues. Been using Photoshop CS6, Parallels and Dreamweaver CS6 all day. Saving in Photoshop works fine for me.

Did you guys that are having no issues have to re-install any new apps software again... or did the upgrade just allow you to use the apps in your existing apps folder..? off the bat..? off you go..?

I wanna upgrade as I have all the latest software... but I just cannot afford the downtime/nightmare at the moment of having to re-install all my core software, find serials, enter registration details etc... all over again...

Great to hear so many positive experiences with the upgrade...

The only problem I've encountered since the upgrade is the Suitcase Fusion I mentioned earlier. We're all still running only CS5.5 apps: PS, AI, ID, Acrobat, DW. We've had no issues.

No need to reinstall ANY apps. As a matter of fact, when I restarted Safari, all my previous pages came back up where I had left them, history was still in place...

After you install, you're notified if you have any incompatible software on your computer. Whereas in Lion, you just discovered this by noticing a "DO NOT" symbol over top the apps icon, this list will tell you what is incompatible with 10.8, AND it puts all the software in an "Incompatible Software" folder.

We're also running a bunch of other stuff besides CS suite: Quickbooks, Word Office 2011, etc. And what it seems to me is, if it worked for Lion, it'll probably work for Mountain Lion.

Nothing near as bad as upgrading to Snow Leopard, or upgrading to Lion. This feels more like a 10.7.9 than a 10.8 upgrade.

Can anyone check in InDesign if this bug is still there? Apparently it crashes if you try to delete a page or package a file. This is a huge deal breaker if it's still there cause I know how slow Adobe is with their updates...
