I own a 13in MBP 2.26, which I got the week it came out.
My old desktop (dell 4600) is on its last legs. It has lasted a whopping 6.5 years
and only once did the main HD fail (after 4years).
I use the desktop for mainly browsing and watching videos online. I got a nice Dell 2209WA monitor to go with as well and therefore an iMac is overkill for me.
I really like the mini formfactor and the fact that I am planning on remodelling my workspace to make it minimalist.
Also I plan to run win7 natively on it and not use the os-x much (since the rest of the family will take a while to switch to os-x)
It seems like the MBP and the mini 2.26 are pretty much the same, component wise. I really dont see much difference atall. My MBP is working well for me.
So my question is:
Should I buy the base mini? Or should I go for a more powerful i7 machine (non-Apple) just to futureproof myself?? I really dont see any other machines which are powerful as well as small and beautiful (I will be putting it in the public area of my house).
Do any others have a similar setup? What are your thoughts on it?
Thanks!
