Any MP 6.1 (late 2013) succeeded with El Cap?

I would be very grateful if owners of the MP 6.1 would tell me if they succeeded in the upgrade from Yosemite to El Capitan obtaining a resulting working system without serious bugs.

I tried the upgrade twice, once in my inner drive and the second time with a USB 3 external drive.

In both cases the upgrade went without apparent problems.
However in both cases the MP would then not shut down any longer, no matter how long I waited.
I was always forced to use the ON-OFF button for that purpose not a solution for the long...

Luckily I could use an external clone Yosemite to restore 10.10 in my inner drive, but had also to use some files and terminal commands to recover as well the recovery partition (an explanation found in a very useful old post under the name “Partition Drive don't update" thanks to the advise of friendly users), since the 10.10 recovery partition had been lost through the cloning process.

Neither internet restore nor restore by the Time Machine worked for me, only the clone drive saved my system with all my applications and my data!

I wonder if it is a El Capitan problem affecting just my personal MP 6.1 or a bug affecting other users with that type of computer.
This would allow me to contact Apple Care and see if they can help.

Ce que vous raccontez est très encourageant!
J'ai actualisé aussi sur 10.10.1 et, par première fois, j'ai pu finir normalement El Capitan sans devoir couper le courant.

Je l'ai fait sur un disque externe USB car je n'ossait pas encore l'installer sur le disque dur interne après ce qui m'était arrivé avec la version originale 10.11, mais selon votre rapport le nouveau OSX 10.11.1 devrait fonctionner aussi chez moi.
Je suis à présent en tout cas bien plus optimiste suite à votre aimable message.

So the different bugs posted by many users elsewhere are not any particular problem of the MP late 2013.
Your computer works fine with El Capitan after the new update to 10.11.1.

Mid-range beefed-up 2013 nMP here.

Upgrade went without problems and stuff seemed to work, but there are critical bugs in EC itself, affecting the work I do, so had to upgrade back to Yosemite, losing Magic Trackpad 2 on the way.

Sorry for not understanding in "EC" the obvious!

I agree with your view of a beta, but betas are intended for developers and testers and NOT for users in their productive environment.
Releasing a "beta" to the general public as a ready-to-use OS version lacks any sense of responsibility in my modest personal view.
Not even Microsoft caused with their recent Windows 10 such a quantity of problems, and I always considered them as the world champions in creating that kind of worries.

You, sir, are absolutely correct.

To make life of pro users more miserable Apple decided to support Magic Trackpad 2 (wonderful piece of tech, by the way) in EL Capitan only. It's not just not responsible, it's a straight honest "fark you" to users. I won't be surprised if they drop MacPro line alltogether.
