Any news yet if ever able to remove a jailbreak on an iPhone 3G with baseband 6.02?

Figured by now someone would have figured it out, like Fuzzyband. Bought the phone used with a jailbreak already on it... never had a use for it at all. I just make calls and use free apps from iTunes.

You can remove the JB any time, you just cant downgrade the baseband on it.
And I highly doubt anyone is still working on anything for the iphone 3G. Its old, slow and outdated hardware.

If I remove the jailbreak, can I then run an update the iOS with iTunes without it getting all messed up?

I did that once, took hours for me to figure out a way to get it back to life again. All the forums said it was bricked and no longer any good, but, eventually found a way around it.

Basically, would like to wipe out the phone totally, install the latest iOS and have it run as if it just came out of the store. Jailbreak seems to make it slower, slow at startup, and a few other small glitches.

Is the ipad baseband installed?
If yes then you cant install a stock 4.2.1 firmware. Only custom ipsw's.
And the iphone 3G is a turtle anyway on 4.2.1 either JB or on stock firmware.
I dont know how people still put up with it. Anything higher than 3.1.3 on the iphone 3G is a drag.

No idea... like I said, bought it used with Jailbreak. Woulda been about 1.5yrs ago now.

I just make calls, and use free iStore apps, prepaid plan so not even using it for internet. Really just after a good working phone without any issues. Just be nice to have it how it should be so if I ever accidentally hit the wrong button like restore in iTunes, it doesn't brick. :)

I hear you.
Sucks that the ipad baseband causes permanent issues like that.
I'd try to find a cheap used 3GS or iphone 4. Their prices have dropped latelly and they're way faster than the 3G.

Ya... maybe even a trade with someone who wants Jailbreak installed.

That or just wait until an iPhone 5G comes out, 4G drops and sell this one and upgrade. :)

I like it for some apps, but since I don't use it for internet or anything like that, hard to warrant an upgrade quite yet. :)
