Any news when in the summer will the App be unleashed? Probably working through battery consumption issues aren't they...? Just can't wait -- any updates?

I'm waiting on the Netflix app also so I can sign up for their free 2 week trial. I want to see how streaming netflix over 3g will be. I'm debating on Netflix or Hulu+.

I just received my Hulu Plus invite and am anxiously awaiting the Netfllix app. I hope to see it soon. Watching entire seasons of shows via streaming has been a lifesaver when there's nothing on cable.

The Netflix app for iPad has been very disappointing IMHO. It's really nothing more than a wrapper for their website, is always extremely slow and quirky, and crashes a lot. I've chalked it up to first release-itis, but it's going on a few months now with no evidence they're making a "real" app. I'm very interested in Hulu+, however I'm also annoyed with that since they made such a big deal about it being released only to find out you have to have an invite (which I'm still waiting for). Why release the app before they're even going to let people use it?

I've been waiting for this as well. Hulu+ seems lame. why would I wanna pay another 10 a month for some shows and still get ads on top.

Double dipping ftl.

Maybe hulu is taking a page out of google's book with the invites. You use to need an invite for gmail or google voice.

Kind of disappointed to hear about the netflix app troubles on the ipad though.

I just hate hulu has the ads. I wish they had a free viewing like you do on your laptop if they're going to play ads and a pay side that is ad free or very limited along with more viewing content

A Netflix app would be great, if they use the same codec they use for instant streaming to my PS3 or X360. I have the Hulu+ app and the picture quality is really bad. It's worse than it is when I watch on my 52" screen via my Mac Mini. For example, I watched a little "Wipeout" on my iPhone 4 and faces were a flesh-colored blank rectangle until several frames later the details began to emerge.

since there is a netflix ipad app, no reason why it shouldn't be far behind for the iP4... i might sign up once it hits the iphone, but not before...

Agreed, but it's still worlds better than the idiotic interface on the PS3.

Hey I have and invite and the Hulu+ service. On the archived shows I've watched so far, there's no ads, just a bumper up front for 5 seconds promoting the network the show is on. Dont know if no ads will keep up for those who pay like me, but right now no ads
