Any news on the AirPods’ Wireless Charging Case?

With the iPhone X coming out, news on other Apple products seem to have come to a full stop.
Have there been any news on the Wireless Charging Case for the AirPods since the keynote?

I’m still holding out for the AirPods because of this and I actually can’t wait.
Eagerly awaiting this more than the X, to be honest.

They said in the keynote it was coming in 2018. I'd say just buy the AirPods now, buy the case separately later.

Yeah, but what if Apple introduces a slightly updated version of the AirPods with Bluetooth 5.0 ...

If they just told us now, it would all be so much easier to decide.
