with 2.93, the gaming, encoding, rendering is faster. you might not really notice it that much, but it would be faster. movies, web surfing, typing text really isn't.
I had a 2.66 GHz for a couple weeks, then took an opportunity to upgrade to a 2.93 GHz.
Honestly, I don't game or do major editing or anything and I haven't noticed a difference. It's purely dependent on what kind of tasks you're going to throw at your computer.
