Just purchased a Unicomp Model M replica and absolutely love typing on it. I’ve always used the cheapest keyboard I could find in the past and I’m glad I went for it. Was curious if they are popular in the Mac community most users seem to be on Linux I've met.

Me... Bought one last year because I prefer (read as require) a clickety keyboard. My two Linux boxes have original IBM M kbds and they are by far the best. The Unicomp feels the same but is obviously not a copy. You can stand on the original M's to reach the top shelf without worry of breaking something. The Unicom is well built, but not in the Battleship class of the old clackers.

Not the Model M, but I've got a few mechanical keyboards which I love. Bought them during the early part of the work-from-home part of the pandemic and can't go back.

I have a Logitech Pro X and a Keychron K2, both with MX Blue-style clicky switches, a Keychron K1 (low-profile) with blue clicky switches (though feels different than standard-size), and a new Keychron Q1 with Gateron brown phantoms which is simply amazing.

A friend has a Unicomp keyboard.
It's built like a tank, feels good on which to type.
