Any photographers successfully calibrated iMacs?

Are there any photographers out there who are printing from successfully calibrated aluminum iMacs?

The only thing that deters me from getting one is the stories I've read about difficulty in calibrating them due to the glossy glass screens, but many of these seem to be posted by folk who do not own iMacs.

Anyone like to share their experiences?

My 20" AL iMac looks absolutely PERFECT with Adobe RGB (1998). Try that one out - it's included with OS X. (well, of course, it'd look better without that damn gradient, but oh well!)

AdobeRGB is not a monitor profile. It's a synthetic working space that doesn't describe any physical device.

I have the 24" ALU iMac. I, too, was warned about the possible false colors that may be displayed on the glossy screens.

With that being said....I have had numerous photos printed by Mpix after carefully editing them to my liking. When all is said and done, there was VERY LITTLE difference in the printed photographs and what I actually saw on my computer screen. Regardless of what others say, I have found the glossy screen to fit my needs for my amateur "professional" photography.

I have calibrated mine with a spider2express without a problem.

Coming from an 'el-cheapo' screen I can only see improvement, but then again if you would compare it to a 3k Eizo then it wouldn't look so nice.

so as always you get your money's worth, but I don't regret getting the iMac for my foto needs.
