Hello, I use SwiftKey on my Android tablet. Is there any point to use it on iOS devices such as the iPhone 6s Plus?

Sure if you like the swipe option and their predictive/autocorrect. I personally now stick with the iOS keyboard because I use the 3D Touch cursor functionally all the time.

yes you loose the rd touch but you gain a much better word predict. I hate how the default keyboard puts the right word to the left instead of the middle.

It's still buggy on iOS, I really want to use it because I love swiping but I find myself deleting it every time I talk myself in to trying it again

I stopped using Siwftkey because of the horrible spell checking/auto correct it does. I much prefer Swype. It's unbelievable the amount of made up words Swiftkey thought I was typing.

Thanks for the replies. I hope they could improve Skype for iOS soon. There should be more language support.

It's not nearly as polished or feature rich on iOS. I'm hoping they work aggressively to improve it in 2016. That said, their prediction engine is far and away the best I've used on any keyboard once it's learned your patterns.

I don't bother with third part keyboards apart from the kimoji app :). For two main reasons.

1) they are generally pretty poor on iOS compared to android. Most are buggy and the few extra features you gain are not worth it imo

2) the stock iOS keyboard is very good. Probably the best on a mobile device. It has a few quirks like capital letters but overall it's highly useable and therefore I don't see a need for third party apps.

I use swiftkey on iOS because I like swiping. It performs notably better on my 6S versus my iPad Air. My hunch is the 2GB Ram makes a big difference

I will switch back to stock iOS keyboard when it can swipe type

I use Swype on iOS instead. I find that Swype is better at gesture typing than SwiftKey. SwiftKey is better at thumb typing than Swype.

I turned off the stock keyboard and use Swiftkey. Turning off the stock keyboard takes care of most of the bugs. The text prediction and swipe features make it worth giving up the 3D touch keyboard cursor control on the stock one.

That's a good tip about turning off the stock keyboard. Got rid of a lot of the jank!!

Unlike the Android version, Mac version of Swiftkey has no Japanese language support yet.

Has Swype been improved at all during say the last 6 months? I gave up on it about that long ago because it was still crashing and refusing to appear way too often.

In my limited experience with it on iOS 8 it was pretty buggy. That was also about a year ago. The stock keyboard seemed to work better.
