I just sold my phone and expected the unlock to be available today. Since most of us know it wasn't, I need to come up with a solution for the buyer before I ship. That's why I turn to you experts here at MacRumors :)

what do you think the best option is? I have an intel mac and an iPhone 3G, so I guess I could use the new pwnage tools right? All of these tools are confusing me as I haven't jailbroken anything since the early 2G days.

1. Should I just use the new 3.0 jailbreak? If so exactly what do I need to download and do? It's my understanding that to unlock is through a program? (yellowsn0w?)

2. Should I downgrade to 2.2.1 and unlock? If so can you point me out to any good step by step instructions for that?

Any advice? I really really do appreciate the help.

the new pwnagetool is already out, so you can that to jailbreak your 3g.

still no unlock as of now, just got to wait.

what you can do is, sell the phone to the guy and before you give it to him... slide a small piece of paper into the simcard slot. That way when he pulls it open to pop his simcard in, he'll see the piece of paper and it will read "you just got screwed!!"

/2cents :D
