Hi there,

I purchased Postbox. I especially like the search feature.

What I don't like is that I have to pay $8 for a tech support question. There's no user forums for information.

That's why I'm asking this: even if I select Postbox as the default mail read in Mail, if I use 'Share' from a Finder window, Postbox does not show up as an option.

Any suggestions?
Thank you

I'm running Postbox, works well for me. I have no idea what you're trying to do though. Are you trying to set Postbox as your default Mail client? Or do you mean the Postbox sharing extension? Something completely different?

I have Postbox selected as default mail reader in the Mail preferences.

But when I try to ‘Share’ a doc via Finder window, Postbox does not show up as an option. THAT’s my issue. Thanks

Have you installed the Postbox sharing extension? Is Postbox running when you're trying to share?

What version Postbox are you using? My Postbox crashes every time I start it. After a clean reinstall as well. I am using the latest version from their website.

I don't find the Postbox sharing extension in System Preferences Extensions at all.
Looks like something went wrong with your installation. Try to re-install it. Would also be interesting to know what versions of macOS and Postbox you're running as pointed out in the post above.

As you suggested - I deleted Postbox, reinstalled it and set up the sharing extension. Back in business.

I have been a Postbox user and I was just about to click send on a question to the Postbox suppert-team when I saw the $8 fee. I wasn't interested in using their service for my question.
Postbox sadly has some of the issues that lives in the current version of Firefox and Thunderbird; the contextual menu/right-click menu. It's my number one complaint about the whole lineup of Mozilla(XUL) based products.

I was a Postbox user for a few years. Coming from Thunderbird, I just imported/used my old TB profile and mail folders. Initially, they did give the user access to about:config, but when they took that away (cannot trust those users not to mess up their own mail client), I returned to TB, and am very happy. The return to TB was just the reverse of moving to Postbox. I just pointed to my profile and mail folders and all was well.

I have a peculiar problem with Safafi and Postbox and I don't know which App is causing the problem. Every time i try to open a page is safari that begins with "Feed and ends with xml" like this feed://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/print/a1/rssheadlines.xml Safari want to open it in Postbox instead of the reader App and I don't know how to fix this.

So it's been a year since the start of this thread...

I've been using PostBox for a while, and it's OK. But is there ANY support forum of ANY kind? It seems ridiculous to pay $8 to ask questions that should appear in the user guide or other documentation.

I've never paid for support with Postbox... just hit them up on Twitter...

I did do that once... but sometimes my questions can be verbose. But, thanks for mentioning it, because I keep forgetting about it.

Thanks!
