any REAL risk to jb 2.1 AT&T contract 3g phone?

I am seriously considering jailbreaking my phone. Today after playing with a coworkers helio handset I realized how much I really misshaving a little 320x240 quick video camera. I mean seriously this is what to me makes the iPhone less of a real "next gen" feeling piece of technology.

I am not computer illiterate by any means. I did a jb on a friends 16gig iPod touch and it took me hours but I still managed an extremely long process and was successful.

That being said it appears so SIMPLE to jb 2.1 now!

So what real risk is there? Iveread these fojms enough to understand that technically you are breaking the apple software agreement however can't I just install new if I ever need to returnmy phone for replacement?

Honestly the video recorder is all I want. I can't see apple releasing one - at least not untiliphone 3.0, and I choose not to wait that long.

There is no risk. You just restore it to factory settings if you ever need to bring it in.

If you're the paranoid type though, you may want to opt out of changing your start-up image.

If it ever freezes up on you, while starting up, and is unrecoverable, it's a dead giveaway if you've changed the start-up graphic.

Yes. Also, if you're going to take it to the Apple store, you should restore. If you want to take your chances, I recommend setting up BossPrefs to open on double tap, and then use it's "Poof" feature to hide all of the jailbreak apps.

Then, to get back to how it was, double tap the home button and use BossPref's Poof feature to unhide all of your jailbreak apps.

But you're better off restoring.

eh, ever since i found out that double tapping the home button brings up your favorites for you to call i have loved it. can't believe i didn't know it before.
