Any reason not to upgrade iLife to -09 version?

Hi

I just got my -08 imac from J and R Music, great computer at a great price.
Since it was the -08 model it came loaded with iLife -08 and had a cd inserted with iLife -09.
Is there any reason I shouldn't upgrade to -09 iLife right away before I transfer my old iphoto library etc?

Is there anything that is better (faster?) in -08 than -09?

By the sounds of it his mac has come with a disk of '09.

I never really used '08 but have never had any problems with iLife '09 either and I like faces and the auto upload to facebook.
 
I got the CPU insert CD with iLife -09.
I never used -08, had -06 before so hence my question if -09 is better than -08 and if I should upgrade first before I start using it.

if you think you will upgrade anyway, I'd go ahead and do it now. 09 has the cool stuff like faces and geotagging stuff which I find very useful and fun. I'm barely remembering what 06 was like, but as I recall 08 and 09 are quite different.
 
Like I said '09 has many new features such as faces, places and my personal favorite the ability to upload to facebook directly from in iphoto. They have also worked on the other apps but I do not use them. I would recommend upgrading.
 
The upgrades to iMovie and iPhoto are solid, and worthy of an upgrade. If you plan to edit video in iMovie, there were many detailed editing features added, that many felt were missing in '08, thus making '09 the first real usable version of the redone iMovie GUI. Personally, I was happy with '08, and find '09's upgrades to be icing on the cake.

wasn't worth the upgrade for me. faces doesn't work that great, places is cool on iPhoto. i rarely use iMovie but when i do - i prefer iMovie 6 HD.

Did you know that the recent iPhoto patch was supposed to improve faces performance. Haven't tried it much, as that feature is more gimmicky for me.

yes i am up to date. doesn't help much. it maybe detects 25% of my photos right. i don't really have a use for smart albums besides for by which camera they are from, dates, etc
