With Apple changing their status to either just in stock or not it's hard to gauge if somethings in the pipe.

I realize this just came out and wouldn't expect anything to change on it but when looking at Amazon, they're out of stock on the Server model and says it'll ship in 1 to 2 months.

Seems odd for something that you'd think would be readily available for stock.

Only change I can 'guess' is maybe USB 3.0 support once Ivy Bridge comes out?

Other than that, I have nothing.

I'm hopeful for USB 3.0 and Apple coming to its senses again and put in a DVD/BlueRay burner :)() plus maybe a slightly better case, making it easier to replace the Hard Drive (;))

Just my rant for the day.... :D :apple:

Agreed. Adding BR just makes too much sense.

While Blu-Ray would be nice, I doubt that's going to happen.

I often wonder what Apple has against choice. Nothing's stopping them from adding a couple more models to the lineup. Sure it's a little more inventory to manage but hey, it will make their customers happier.

It has nothing to do with choice. It is more about philosophy, os stability, and licensing.

Only one reason: maximising profits, nothing else.

You have to understand the lifecycle of a product and the rise and fall of a firm.

The public always gets what it wants: The lowest possible quality with the least features at the highest price that the manufacturer can get away with and they'll put it into some fancy packaging with some fancy marketing hype......

Pretty definitely not. The reason mini server is out of stock is because it is a hot item.

Exactly. Big demand. A lot of people were waiting for long overdue refresh. Next refresh won't be for at least another 6 months. Maybe then we'll see a new design, but for 2011, this is it.
