Any rumors that Apple is going to give us icon switching native in iOS 15?

Anyone hear any rumors of Apple finally giving us native icon switching in 15? It's close now, but I tried one app, and it's really wonky to use and there is a huge lag when opening apps using it. I want to be able to use Icon packs on my phone but don't want lag etc.

I'd wager that the influence of app developers who do not want users to bypass the company/app logo/trademark (which is a form of advertising/promotion) will outweigh the number of users who have any interest in changing the icon.

Still, it's curious that despite the number of users who complain bitterly when their devices are not "smooth" or speedy when opening apps, there are other users who are willing to sacrifice that in order to see a different icon.

I am not one of those people, I need my phone fast and smooth. One of the main reasons I stay with iPhone. but I like changing the look of my phone. I think dev's need to realize that if we have the app downloaded we already know about the brand and what it is. Don't change it in the app store, but once on the phone does it really matter?

So what's the problem? Devs can already provide alternative icons for their apps, it's not something new...

Would be cool to see. I used to JB to theme (and other issues). Be w hole new area for a revenue stream.

The stutter we ( some folks) are seeing is a different animal. I do not see icon swapping having an impact unless you are thinking fully animated?

I will keep my stock icons, thanks. That being said, there was once a time when apple would never allow other web brower and email clients, widgets, and screens larger than 4 inches.

I don't know technically what it was. I was using an app to swap icons, and every time i opened an app, there was a black screen flip and then the app would open. NOT into that.
