D-Day.

The invasion of Normandy--known for their juicy red apples--was named Operation Overlord...some would say Steve was the Overlord.

70 years after the liberation of Europe Apple executes a 7-1 split.

70 years...7-1...magical number seven.

Any numerologists out there?

Or am I reading too much into this? :p

The Board of Directors has also announced a seven-for-one stock split. Each Apple shareholder of record at the close of business on June 2, 2014 will receive six additional shares for every share held on the record date, and trading will begin on a split-adjusted basis on June 9, 2014.

Le's see, 9-2=7... No, that doesn't work...

When the moon is in the 7th House, and Jupiter aligns with Mars... Uh uh.

Thirty days has September, April, June, and November...

June 6, 2014 falls on a Friday, which means Friday the 13th actually falls on a Friday in June 2014. Meantime, June 6, 1944 was a Tuesday. Coincidence? I think not!

1944 was a leap year and 2014... isn't.

Did the liberation of Europe take place on June 6, 1944? What about the Allied invasion of Italy? What about the Russian Front?

And sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

easier from a corporate finance perspective:
- it is done at quarter end-ish, so not much internal adjustments needed
- before holiday season, and likely before any major product releases so internal and Wall St. analysts do not have to spend forever and a day calendarizing / normalizing valuation and capitalization tables
- summer is usually the slow season for most internal corp fin groups (assuming a relatively normal fiscal year) so a good time to get it out of the way

... a little too pragmatic?

There's not nearly enough occult involved in your theory. I suggest revising.
