hey all,
taking a 3D modeling course at the moment and I was considering getting Maya so I would be able to work at home and not be stuck to working in the lab.
I was just wondering if there were any significant limitations to purchasing a student edition. I know that the licensing agreement states it can't be used for anything other than educational purposes but I was wondering if there were any noticeable limitations like watermarks, or something that might ruin any work I'd do.
Also, any chance someone might know where to get an older(also educational) version of Maya? My school computer store use to stock 2009, but doesn't any more. the 2010 price is pretty cheap for what it is, but it comes with alot of stuff I don't need at the moment(I am a beginner after all), and I can't seem to find it separately.
thanks!
