I'm wondering as I wait for my BTO MBP (which has a 3 or so week delay - I'm in Japan, waiting for one customised with a US keyboard) - whether or not there is any sign of the latest build weeks showing any changes?

Anyone have a recent week build already shipped? Does it exhibit the tint / warp / audio static issues? What screen manufacturer is it?

I'm asking this specifically about the recent week builds (I think we're around 28 aren't we?) Because when mine ships, I won't have a chance to take it back to the shop, as I am leaving the country. Obviously I am nervous about this, having actually seen the yellow tint and warped screen in the Mac store.

I just exchanged a week 24 with a Samsung screen for a week 26 which also has a Samsung screen. The week 24 had yellow tint in the lower left quadrant. I haven't had a chance to check out the yellow tint issue on the week 26. But the replacement has worse build quality. There are big gaps on both sides when the display is closed, the trackpad button is very loose, part of the trackpad surface was not pressed down all the way (I think it's held by adhesive), there is a slight bulge in the case above the latch and something is creaking when I lift the notebook!

Wow that sucks, sorry to hear it. My week 26 Samsung matte has excellent build and performance - BUT - the yellowish lower third is present (not terrible but a bit annoying). I am realy not sure what to do. With no guarantee of a replacement being of equally high build quality, nor even a yellow-free lower third, I am really hesitant to roll the dice for a return. Since it is a custom build (7200 Seagate), all the messing around with shipping may not be worth it.

I wish Apple would cop to the slightly dodgy screens and replace those that are hindered as opposed to engaging in a sort of roulette.

Best of luck on your machine.

nooo.

I was starting to get the idea that the Week 26 machines were tint free :(

I hope I get a good one tomorrow. It will be my third.

My SR Macbook Pro 2.2

When I first bought my one I got one where the touchpad was bulging out (like Smoothie's) and the touchpad and keyboard weren't even being picked up by Mac OS. Got a week 22 with an LG display as a DOA replacement... no defects, all works perfectly! :)
