Hi, I’m considering buying the 2021 version (M1) of an ipad pro.

I’m hesitating between the 11 and 12.9. I’m going to an apple store today to feel them in my hand and see what I prefer.

Beside the hardware differences, is there any difference on the software side? Some things that just the 12.9 is capable of.

If I chose the 11in, I don’t want to have a bad surprise where the 12.9 was the only with some features.

Thanks

I don’t think they differ from the software side, just the obvious hardware differences.

So far no obvious software difference aside from better multitasking experience. But because of its size, stage manager could offer 12.9“ advantages 11“ cannot take simply because of smaller screen. We will see.

One of the most notable feature difference is you get numbers always visible on the Keyboard on the 12.9. If you are typing letters and numbers much on the on screen keyboard the 12.9 is way better.

Software side... one difference between the two is 3 column support for 12.9 iPPs only.

Some Apple apps has the feature like Mail and Notes, which devs are able to implement this feature in their apps on 12.9 iPPs.

I chose a 12.9.

I saw both side by side and wasn’t impressed at all with the display of the 11
