i purchased some music videos from the apple store and they are in protected mpeg-4 video format. i just bought a large plasma screen tv and im installing a "gasp" pc tower to use with it. i want to burn these videos and move them to this new unit. is there an application like jhymm for protected mp3's that will do the same to backup these videos? i hope this isnt some sort of taboo, i paid for these you know.

Why not just install iTunes on the PC and play them from there. You can authorize up to 5 computers and iTunes will play them full screen.

You have to authorize the PC. That means that you will need to have it connected to the internet for that part, but it should work fine. Like I said, you get 5 computers that you can copy your music and movies to.

It'll work fine. In fact, if you have you machines networked so that they can share folders, you don't even need to copy the music over, just share it over the network from the host machine. iTunes does this really well.

btw mileslong, love the sig

thanks guys, i just burned disc with 3 of the videos on my mac. i then tried to play them in the pc here at the office and it doesnt recognize them. the only way toast would burn them was to make a data disc with the dvd-rom (udf) tab.

my mac will play the disc under QT or Itunes but the pc wont play them. i was hoping to be able to play them in a DVD at some point as well. any ideas?

if you like my signature then i will give you a small taste of the greatness of hayden christensen and awesome, powerful yet sexy dialogue of george lucas, just reading this brings a tear to my eye....for all the wrong reasons of course...

"Anakin: From the moment I met you, all those years ago, not a day has gone by when I haven't thought of you. And now that I'm with you again... I'm in agony. The closer I get to you, the worse it gets. The thought of not being with you- I can't breath. I'm haunted by the kiss that you should never have given me. My heart is beating... hoping that kiss will not become a scar. You are in my very soul, tormenting me... what can I do?- I will do anything you ask.
[uncomfortable pause]
Anakin: ... if you are suffering as much as I am, PLEASE, tell me.

believe me anakin, im suffering more than you will ever know - mileslong

So you have iTunes installed at work, and you've authorized that compputer to play your purchased files? If the vids have DRM (ie purchased through iTunes) that has to be done, until a DRM stripper comes out, and you really don't need it I don't think.

I would definately try to open them with iTunes and let iTunes put it in a QT window.

i will have to authorize my work itunes and the new one at home then. will iever be able to burn these to a DVD that will play in most DVD players?
