Hi folks,
I am having problems jailbreaking my old iPhone 4 with Pangu. I restored the phone to iOS 7.1.1 using DFU mode (overkill, I know) and then, since I have a Mac, I installed iTunes and Pangu in a virtual Windows-7 machine running in VirtualBox. I gave the virtual machine USB access to the phone, and it sees it without problems. I then ran Pangu according to the instructions (disabled passcode, set the date back). The Pangu app appeared and opened as expected, and after a while the iPhone reboots. But then the process gets stuck, the Pangu app is still on the home screen. In one of the three attempts the phone rebooted a second time, but still no Cydia, just the Pangu app.
After trying the first time, I deleted the Pangu app and tried again. When that failed, I did a new restore and tried again. No success.
One thing happens that is not mentioned in the instructions: The phone asks me to sign in to my iCloud account repeatedly under the process. SHould I ignore it or do it?
Has anyone had success under similar circumstances (Virtual machine)? Has anyone had success/failure with an old iPhone 4?
Any help is appreciated!
