As the title mentions, I would like to delete all metadata from any photos that I post on social media, any simple/free methods to do so?

I ask because when you hit apple-I for info on the photo in finder, it shows a lot of data, including my phone number, where it was texted to/from, information I don't want on a public soc media site.

Are you posting the pics from a Mac? I'm asking because this is the "Mac basics" forum. If you're posting from your iPhone, then I can move this thread to an iPhone forum.

There's a Quick Action to convert images. You can also make your own shortcut using the Shortcuts tool on the Mac.

The "Convert Image" dialog presents an option to Preserve Metadata. If you uncheck this, then metadata should be removed, even if you keep the file format the same, e.g. JPEG to JPEG.

Maybe this is just me but as far as I know photos taken with an iPhone do not show the phone nr of the phone it was taken with or that of nr that it has been texted to or from. It might show coordinates from where the photo was taken (which you can turn off).

Not relevant for OP but in case someone stumbles upon this thread and wants to remove EXIF data directly on their iPhone/iPad, I use Exif Viewer [paid app].
