Go for it!

I've got that same configuration, and it works really well for me.

I'm not using Final Cut Pro, or any pro-grade apps, but it works really well!

If you want the larger HDD, you can DIY it pretty simply. Just Google it.:)

I just have MS Office, Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 on my macbook, I am not a gamer, etc.

I second the 2nd post. For a measly hundred bucks more or so (edu discount), get the latest base Mini with lightening fast graphics, nice size hard drive, N airport card, latest monitor support, and superior RAM upgrade potential. Get this one and you have a historic relic in the not too distant future.

You ought to be good with the eBay mini. The only thing that may not be the best is PS, but if it isn't really intense stuff, it should be fine.

Yeah I am prob better off with a new one, and for $774 I would be maxing out the RAM to 4gb

Yeah I agree with ya better off with a new one unless you are getting a great deal on an older mini.

Can I ask where you are from? I saw the "gotta hava Wawa" thing under your name and well I am form the Philly area and Wawa'a are all over the place.

Live in South Jersey and work in Media. Yup there’s about 576 Wawa's stores that I know of

HAHA yeah they are everywhere! I am in Concordville near Painters Crossing, just about 15 mins from Media Boro.

Nice to see someone on here that is local. Oh yeah welcome to the boards. This is a great place to be. If there is anything I can do just hit me up on IM.

Thanks for the welcome! This is a great place and I have found alot of great info so far, everyone is very helpful! I grew up using an Apple II GS in high school, then had a Mac LC II, then bought a PowerPC back in around 1997, but switched to Windows in around 1998, just because of MS Word, I had to be able to open them, but I do like Mac and I am back!

I will most likely always have a PC around tho.

Yeah I know how you feel. I'm stuck working with PC's for my day job. I would be all mac at home, but the wife like windows and doesn't like the different OS. Oh well what are you gone do....

Ok I need some opinions....again, thanks ahead of time for all the advice, it is appreciated!!

So I found this Refurbed Mini, http://store.apple.com/us/product/FB139LL/A?mco=MjE0NDk5Mw

$469 plus tax so $497 or new for $774 which will have 4gb RAM, 250 GB HD

Refurbished Mac mini 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo1GB memory
120GB hard drive
SuperDrive (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
Intel GMA 950 graphics processor with 64MB of DDR2 memory

I am not worried about the graphics card, I am not a gamer or high intense video watcher, I use photoshop, watch youtube, nothing too exciting, what do you all think about this one versus a new one, the only thing that is a bummber on this is the 1gb RAM, and I don't think I would personally busy it open to upgrade so I would have to take it to Apple I guess.

That's the same thing that I have, except I've got 2 GB of RAM. I do a bunch of stuff in iMovie and iDVD (about as intense as you can get in those apps), watch HD video and what not, and I could only be happier with a Mac Pro that has FCS 2 (though I do prefer PPC) .

So Save the $277 and go with the refurb one?

I did see in the Specs it maxes out at 2gb RAM
