Hello everyone,
My wife and I now both have Iphones and this is the very first time that we both have the same phone and I was wondering if other people out there have any tips for me.

I am going to be experimenting with the whole authorizing her pc so we can share apps.
I don't think we can share songs because the songs on her pc and my pc are different. I am assuming the same is true for videos.

She is going to be lovin' her Iphone tomorrow night so what do you think, anyone else doing something cool with 2 Iphones.

Let me know, thanks.

It'll take some work but you can consolidate both your libraries. It'll take some work to weed out the duplicates, but that should be simple with the show duplicates option in iTunes. It's easier when you have a single library instead of two... that way you won't buy a song twice, say you buy it, but forgot to mention it and your wife buys it again without knowing.

One App that you can look for is a GPS one that emails your location to email to the other. They can find your exact location with their phone. Useful if one gets stranded or even just finding someone in the mall.

I have (5) iPhones on our Family Plan, but only (2) in my house and I've created playlists for music, Ringtones, TV shows, podcasts, and video that we can both rotate out and we both access the iTunes Store on my account. I've copied all our music, Ringtones, TV shows and videos and placed them in an external hard drive, allowing myself or the War Department to pull them off the external hard drive and load them on our individual computers, then iPhones via the one iTunes account. Gets easier after we've been at it awhile... You can do it! :p

I have to agree with SF...I also have an external drive for the media so that we do not duplicate songs/videos. One thing to remember is about the apps...both computers MUST be under the same iTunes account and authorized to share Apps. If you set up two different accounts then you will be buying two of the same app. This is why having an external drive is very handy to build user libraries and it gives you a backup of all your media if a computer goes down. If the external goes down then you each have your music/videos you like on each of your computers and can transfer back on a replacement external.

Hope that helps a little...enjoy

Me and wife have always had iphones. Neither of us really use them as an ipod, though i do have music on mine for work boredom and for my alarm. We also have 2 computers in our bedroom. an iMac which i holds the itunes library for her ipod nano and my ipod video. I connect my iphone to that computer and we also have a macbook (because she prefers to surf in bed). She syncs her iphone to that computer. We both use the same itunes account so all purchases work on both iphones.

external hard drive, using one..........

So you guys store all your music and photos and apps and videos on an external hard drive and then you hook that drive up to both of your computers? or do you just use that as a way to transfer your stuff to the other computer?

Doesn't the music and videos need to be on that computer whenever you sync Itunes?

Thanks

If both of you download the app "Fring" you can make skype-like free phone calls to each other. You need to be connected to wifi, but the app is free so.

For me and my wife, it is the storage/backup drive for our media. Every Sunday we backup to this drive so that if one of us made a purchase during the week, the other can transfer to their respective computer. This way the iTunes account is usable by both, we have a backup yet we can each set up iTunes and our iPhones to individual taste. If one drive crashes then through a combination of the other two, all the data can be recovered. Depending on how large your libraries are, in the beginning can be a PITA getting all set up, but once it is done it runs without problem and we have never double purchased by accident.

You hear a song you like so you search your library...not there...search the external...husband purchased it 2 days ago, drag and drop to your iTunes, saved .99+tax.

Good Luck
