I’ve finally given up on my 6s (hasn’t charged right in 3 years and my various tricks are no longer working) and I’m trying to switch to an SE which worked the last time I used it 2ish years ago (if I’m remembering right...might be a bit less than that).

I plugged it in using the same cableI last used for it, connected to my PC. After a few hours I’ve tried swapping the connection to an iPhone power supply, since that provides 2x the wattage of regular usb.

Anything else I can do if it doesn’t power on?

100% of lightning connector devices have failed on me, but this se mostly still worked fine, had about 6 months of usage when I quit using it. Did occasionally require me to unplug it and plug it back in to get it to start charging. I was hoping to eke out a few months usage or if I’m lucky a year of use until Apple dumps it in late 2021 (probably).

You're saying that you're only trying to charge it connected to your PC? What happens if you connect to a wall outlet?

It all depends on your SE’s battery health. Ideally, while not using your SE, you should have kept its charge between 50-70%, regularly topping it up if needed. If you did not do it, your SE battery might be worn out beyond repair. As the previous poster mentioned, try plugging it into a regular wall socket with Apple’s original iPhone charger and see if there are any signs of life on your iPhone’s screen after about 15-20 minutes. If the battery is “alive”, you should see a red empty battery symbol appearing on the screen after a while. If you get this far, you could then plug it into your computer and verify the current battery stats with an app like CoconutBattery:

Good luck! 🖐

Yeah, I’d tried switching to a power supply and that didn’t work either. I swapped directions on the connector and it finally indicated it was getting power. Not a good sign that it’s hit the point it won’t charge from any side/angle, but hopefully it’ll be on when I check later and I can eke our more use from it.
