Hello, I'm a freelance writer & I'm putting together some info for a story about the iPhone - and I would really love to talk to someone from the UK who's actually planning on bagging themselves a shiny iPhone on Friday... even though they'll have to take on a 2 year contract with AT&T! Anyone?!
Thanks - Nikki

Iphone

I am planning to get a iphone on friday. even if you cannot unlock the iphone i am sure some one will figure it out, and as soon as they do my 02 sim will be straight in.

i have reletives in the states and they will be down at the apple store to buy it and sign all the contracts and they are visting us next week very handy timeing!

Thanks

And if no one does figure out how to unlock it, you're fine with a $500 brick?

Most phones can be unlocked because it's a software-based lock. If the iPhone is hardware locked, which it wouldn't surprise me if it is, it will be a lot harder to unlock. Have fun with your brick or your ~$1/min roaming charges.

yeh i'm UK based but ordering one online on Friday. I'm a student at college in the US. going to arrive at my apartment soon after, and a friend is going to FedEx it to me. i can pop my AT&T sim in from here... with international roaming should work fine.

so - sorry - just to clarify, do you live full time in the UK or US?
