I know one can use Pike's bootloader to trick the efi in a Mac Pro 1,1 / 2,1 into installing and running up thru El Capitan. I remember there was a warning that any updates would kill the bootloader. Since several other prjects I'v been juggling are about done I'd like to do the upgrade. Has anyone figured out how to keep the updates from zapping the modified bootloader?

El Capitan is not supported anymore, so no updates whatsoever since July 2018.

Since Catalina was released, Apple only sent Security Updates for High Sierra and Mojave, everything earlier is obsolete.

Obsolete per Apple or obsolete because it won't work? Probably the former. Now back to my question, if you please.
