I did not enjoy the upgrade from 12.4.2 to 13.1.2 on my iPhone 7 although I've now recovered my sense of balance ;)

What should I look out for, as well as forward for, when upgrading to the equivalent iPadOS?

I'm about to go on a roadtrip where I will be away from my MBP and therefore have a chance to play with the iPP as well as depend upon it - eg I have a mouse I'd like to see whether works.

(Did look for a thread which summarised opinion/experience, so if I've missed that .. pl advise)

You should be fine, unless you are some sort of weirdo who uses iPad for something more than games, social media, painting and (bad) media consumption, e.g. a teacher/professor/researcher/professional who thought (s)he could just use his/her HDMI/VGA adaptor to connect to a projector and make a presentation. Then you are out of luck.

(But if your lightning2HDMI/VGA multi-adapter can be powered, i.e. it has a micro USB connection for extra power, then it will work - I used it with a generic Samsung USB charger)

iPad OS in its current state DOES have bugs in it, the performance is generally fine but don’t say I didn’t warn you... think of it as a nearly finished gold copy, a final beta version.
But not everyone, reading here, is experiencing the same bugs.
