Is there ANY WAY AT ALL to access files while in DFU or Recovery Mode?

Please do not suggest escaping from Recovery Mode or DFU Mode. I need access to the files while in either of these modes.

Obviously, SSH cannot work (no IP). The normal solution (iExplorer, funBox, etc) won't work, either, as they only pick up the device when it is NOT in either of these modes.

Hell, a STRAIGHT DUMP of every single file (all 32GB) would be fine (or great, even). I could always dig through it later.

Thanks in advance!

Google "SSH ramdisk iPhone". That will lead you to what you need to know and how to do it.

Thanks for the reply.

I've tried (and tried and tried), but that isn't working for me. Is that really the only solution here?

That's the only way. It does take a little bit of trying, but it works really well once you get it going.

What is the end result of doing this?

I can't figure out how this allows me to access my files; there are no good step-by-steps, just a really high level look.

I spent ten hours trying to manually fix this. Then, I slept. Without tunnel vision, I found this and it was insanely easy to do.

okay I'm reviving this 9 year old thread to ask the same question.
I have an iphone which i tried to update. Something went wrong - the phone crashed and now it's stuck on the apple logo bootloop. I can sometimes stop the loop, get into dfu or recovery mode but as soon as I try to boot the phone again it goes into the loop.

any ideas how to get my phone to boot again without updating the firmware?
I imagine doing an update will keep my data but I'm adamant about not updating.

How much free space did you have just before the update?

Theoretically, if you could boot a ramdisk, you could pull the files off via SSH or Telnet. You should try this option first because flashing an update is higher risk. Maybe look into telnetd_ramdisk.

The official way is to flash a working iOS update. Once you have the iOS update installed, the device should boot, and you can backup the data normally.
Flash a new iOS update using 3uTools. Keep trying the Easy flash, iTunes flash, and Pro flash with the retain data option. Keep trying to update to the latest stable iOS version and also the betas until it works.

Since someone bumped this thread, I was curious which iPhone any of these methods were done with. I currently have an XR with a completely screwed screen, my Bluetooth is still on because when I turn on my truck my music automatically starts playing. I can't back up on itunes because I would have to unlock and trust my laptop upon connection. Anybody have an idea how I could get a back up, data or at least my recent pictures off of it? I used to know how to do all of this and it's just been a while and I haven't had time to mess around with it but I need to order my replacement soon.

Edit: I would like to also add that I can connect to the phone on my laptop via Bluetooth

What iphone and version are you running? I know there are some tools to help exit the loop, dfu and/or recovery.

You won't be able to boot a custom ramdisk until there is a bootrom exploit for A12 devices (such as the XR). checkra1n works on A5 (iPhone 4S) through A11 (iPhone X). Until then, you won't be able to do any data recovery in DFU or recovery.

Not able to press the trust button in the middle of the screen? If touch is broken, ideally, you would replace the screen assembly, which costs $40-50 on eBay, and make your phone usable again. Data recovery should be normal and easy once the screen is replaced.

Unfortunately, the failed update may have corrupted or partially overwritten the old iOS file system, so exiting DFU or recovery will just lead the device to return back into recovery.
