Hi all.

I recently created a short video in Final Cut Pro and transferred it to my iPhone (6s with iOS 9.2.1), where it plays fine and looks great.

However the video thumbnail on the iPhone is a black screen.

I created a short fade in at the start of my video and fade out/ins between the various clips in the video. The very first frame of the video is blank/black as a result - the scene fades in quickly from frame 2.

Now I know that I could re-edit the video to remove this black first frame.

But is there any way within iOS to choose the thumbnail for videos - as displayed in the native Photos App? Rather than the default which seems to always be the first frame of any video?

I guess this isn't possible . . . . but?
