Any way to choose what to restore in a backup?

I've had different iPhones since 2008 and always carried on from backups when I've upgraded. I am probably getting the next iPhone 13 from work when it releases and I'm curious if I somehow can choose what to restore when I restore from my backup? I have some weird issues on my current phone I don't wanna carry forward and also I want to start over app-wise and only download what I need. Currently I just have heaps of unnecessary apps.

Why not simply remove all of the apps and other things you don't want to keep, before your next cloud backup. Then you can restore with those files omitted.

Restoring from a backup is an all or nothing affair. You can't pick & choose different items.
