I'm using Cydia and it shows that there is an update to one of the apps I installed. I don't want to update to the newer version of the app. Is there a way to clear the notification in Cydia so the number goes way in "changes" and on the springboard?

What application? And why don't you want to update?

There are some applications that give reasons not to update. For instance PDANet Prior to 1.44 was free but 1.44 made it trialware, I.E. reason to stay on old firmware

i have the same issue with pdanet. i use 1.33 so it remains free and i cannot get rid of the notification. i would love a work around this issue.

Yep, that's my issue too and is why I asked.

a workaround for this is to uninstall pdanet and then install it from a different repository hosting the old version. there are a couple out there and they wont try to update to the new version because they know people want the old version.

no since pdanet uses an ad-hoc network to connect to your computer. its impossible to be connected to both your computer and another wifi connection.

Great idea, thanks! I used the link and added the repo for 1.33 and all is good.
