One of the things I miss about my nano when using my iPhone is the ability to view the notes section of songs. I put quite a few lyrics in here (mainly for French music to help me stay fresh) that I can't access with iPhone.

Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks.

I've always wondered why songs dont come with lyrics.

They should display while every song plays so you can sing along easier(and know all the words, which you would be surprised are not quite what you thought...

Song lyrics on iPhone

I'm sure you know this by now but if you go into iTunes on your computer and right-click on the song you want to add lyrics to a box will appear with multipal selections.

Click on "Get Info" and click on the "Lyrics" tab. Then you add the lyrics. I copy and paste from any one of many lyric web sites.

When you are finished, resync your iPhone and you are done.

When you play back the song hold the iPhone vertical and tap the screen - the lyrics will appear over the album art.

Good luck!

there's a FREE (cuz I know that's a big deal for a lot of ppl) app called 'tune-wiki' that displays the lyrics to just about every song (even my friends German techno). and for many songs, the lyrics will progress as the song does

To display them in the iPod app, tap on the album art on the Now Playing screen. The scrubber will appear, along with any lyrics you've attached to that song.

When I used tune wiki it did a nice job. I just deleted it because it has ads.

Good lyric finder for iPhone/Touch

Check out Camena, currently #1 in the music app store, does a decent job of retrieving lyrics. It has two data sources, so if one fails, the other kicks in. It also saves the lyrics locally so you don't need wifi/radio the next time you look-up the song.

I use TuneLyrics (free ware) and when a song plays in iTunes it automatically attaches the lyrics as meta data. Then the next time you sync you iPhone/iPod and play a song the lyrics are displayed (translucent) over the album art.

GimmeSomeTune (Mac) or Intellitunes (Windows) automatically adds lyrics and album artwork to any song you play in iTunes, this may not be as convenient as an app like TuneWiki, it will allow you to easily have the lyrics in the iPod app.

combine this with a script for iTunes that plays songs for 10 secs, and a script that isolates all lyricless songs to a single playlist, and you can get lyrics for everything in a day or 2 of leaving your music playing (depending on how many songs you have)

I did it, and now everything has lyrics

Loads of utils use lyricwiki which no longer works.

Anyone got a util that works for windows ?
