The reason I ask is that there is a ton of HD programming on Netflix streaming, but it's not all accessible from PC/Macs but are available to "appliances" such as Xbox 360 or AppleTV.

Any way to fool Netflix into thinking my Mac Mini that's hooked to my TV via HDMI into thinking it's one of these appliances?

Can you explain more specifically? I went to the site and don't see the issue. From what I saw all the HD available to an appliance was available on the PC if you have sufficient bandwidth and have Starlight 3 or higher.

Some Netflix HD content is only available to the TV, not a PC or a Mac.

All of these titles are available to watch in HD on your TV.

Some are also available for HD playback on your computer.

There are 63 pages of HD content available for the TV, only 42 pages available on a computer.

To the original poster, not sure how you could go about that. Device activation is different for a TV device than it is for a PC or a Mac.

I'm not seeing this at the site, but it must be because I've only activated computers, not a Wii, etc.

if you going to fool it, fool it to be the PS3. It has 1080p and 5.1 audio. AppleTV can't do it nor has available.

I'm pretty sure you can load applications like Boxee or Plex (for free) on the Mini. Do these services offer the Netflix HD you want?

To the OP, is there a specific reason to do this? I see brossard has these pages posted, but are there actually more movies? (or just more pages.. ie same movies, but bigger icons, therefore more pages)

I don't see a valid reason for Netflix to hold back some programming from computers

Netflix isn't witholding programming. The content providers are. Two reasons:
1)They see PCs/Macs as an easier target to exploit and archive the digital stream.
2) Or they don't have the rights to grant it.

It's the same with Hulu+ and Hulu. They aren't always granted TV rights (since some other company might have that). Just mobile and computer. Or just TV. It all depends on the contracts.
