Anyone know if there is some way to increase the default font size for things like web browsing and email? I know you can zoom in pretty quickly with a pinch, but then you have to scroll around, which is kind of a pain if you're trying to read anything of length...

On many browsers(at least on a pc) you can do this by holding the control key while you spin the scroll wheel.

I was looking in the settings, and under accessibility, and didn't see anything, which makes me think there is no way to do this. Anyway, it'd be a very useful feature for people who don't have the best eyesight. Anyone else looking for this?

Don't think so. I couldn't find anything anyways. And the brains at the apple store didn't know of anyway either. When I asked they gave an odd look like "Uhhh...no." And said, "Just zoom." But you know, with the utmost customer service courtesy we've come to expect. Would be a nice feature to have--as it is on reg safari.

Seriously though, of course you can zoom but as you said that can get annoying. Still I find double tapping the area you want to see the cleanest way to read smaller text, as it seems to focus on that table frame/block/whatever. (And because...ya know...pinch zooming is such a dirty thing.) Sorry if you already knew this, I know it's been common knowledge since the original iPhone OS.

I am curious though...whether anyone else finds following text when scrolling a strain on the eyes. Smaller text, say in forums, seems to not be as crisp when scrolling as it is on other devices. Maybe it's just me, but I find my eyes going in and out of focus due to the latency (or whatever it's called) of the lcd on the pad. My ACD and iPhone don't cause this effect, so am I alone or is it just my iPad?

Thanks

I'm pretty sure that there's a setting somewhere for minimum font size in mail and safari.

Here's a better description: "In the settings app, you can choose Mail, Contacts, Calendars and change the "Minimum Font Size,""

Not sure if this works for Safari, but at least Safari has the quick double-tap gesture.

it's a real bummer that the font size cannot be easily tweaked on the ipad/iphone.

i guess the geeks that develop these devices all have optimized eyesight.

Thanks! Somethimes these things are right in front of me, and I didn't notice.
I can live with safari... Email was the main concern for me.
