MP 1,1-5,1 Any way to modify the eject key?

Is there any way, without installing third party software, to modify the behavior of the eject key on an Apple keyboard?

I hit the stupid key allllll the time. On other Macs with those slot type optical drives it’s not a problem, but my cMP it’s always popping open.

At the very least I’d like to make it so you hold the key for at least 1 second before it opens the drive. That would solve everything.

I had high hopes, but the eject key is the only key that doesn't appear in the application to modify.

Thanks, I'll keep those in mind. I'd like to avoid running any extra software if possible.

Don't know of any solution, but I'm always doing this too.

Maybe stick some soft material under the key to increase the needed force.
