This is only one of the reasons I didn't see any reason to own a 3G iPad. The iPad for me is a "portable" device inside my home. It can easily be carried from the office to the media room, to the kitchen, to the bedroom, and yes even the bathroom. And in that role it's excellent. Instant on, simple to use, lots of content. Apps like Fax, Print, Share allow me to send stuff to my network printer with no problem. If an enterprise wanted to adopt iPads, a print App would work fine there too.
Wandering around the world outside my four walls, the iPad is a little more questionable. First you'd need another data plan. And then, you never know what device you'd be trying to interface with. How many print drivers do you want on your portable device with limited storage? That's the reason Apple wisely chose to keep that stuff off the iPad. Not to mention the iPhone is a much more portable device that can do a lot of what the iPad can do. Maybe not as well but it's much smaller and lighter. I just can't see myself carting an iPad to a restaurant or mall or a movie.
