I'm experimenting with the iCloud Backup feature and noticed that is DOES backu game data (ie: Angry Birds progress).

Let's say I'm playing Angry Birds on my iPhone and want to now transition to my iPad, is there any way to sync that? Can I 'restore' only my Angry Birds progress from one device to another?

I would love to have all third-party app data synced between all my iDevices but as of now, I don't think its possible over the air. iOS 6 maybe?

It absolutely is possible now, as long as the app developer has implemented iCloud sync. The only game I'm aware of which does this reliably is a title called Jaws Revenge.

I didnt like Iexplorer (or PhoneDisk is the one I used, though I think they are the same). I used Diskaid to transfer my game saves from an itunes backup to my iphone 4 on ios5 (and unjailbroken) and was pleased that I could restore as new yet still have all my game progress. Diskaid is a paid program, but i used my brothers college email to get it free (free for teachers and students). Also, it has a 14 day free trial. I didnt know until now that you could transfer game saves in on a non jailbroken phone, I am soooo happy. At this point, I dont even miss my jailbreak that much any more...

So is there a write up on the process in regards to making this happen? What are the steps in transferring the saved game?

iExplorer is free without committing fraud. :p Go to the link seanfranklin posted and you can get the program and the instructions. I've transferred Angry Birds progress to other iDevices.

Yes, iCloud supports this....I started a thread here:

Essentially the app developers need to start supporting it. Like a previous poster said, the new Jaws Revenge game does it today. Soundhound also saves bookmarks/history in iCloud.

I'm really looking forward to all devs using this.

Note, this isn't iCloud Backup......it's devs using space in your iCloud account to store data.

I think the only thing you could do is restore your other phone to the first phones backup...so you would then have a clone with save games and everything else...no way to extract certain elements tho.
