HomePod Any way to use a Bluetooth turntable with HomePod Mini?

I‘m interested in buying a HomePod Mini as I have several Apple devices at home. However, I also have a bluetooth turntable and to my knowledge there’s no way to use it with a HomePod since those don’t support Bluetooth streaming (only Airplay I believe). Anybody’s got a solution? I read somewhere that I could do it by using an iPad or iPhone as a “middle man” that would receive Bluetooth input from the turntable and cast it on a Homepod using Airplay… not sure that really works though, judging from some tests I made…
