Any Web Devs out there who got the new 15" MBA? Did you go for the 24Gb of Ram? How is the screen treating you, is it sufficient? And would you consider this over a 13" MBA, especially if you had to carry it every day to work and back?

I've got a 13" M1 atm which works fine for me, especially since it's so easy to carry around, literally everywhere you go you can take it with you and I love this about my laptop. Thinking about getting a bigger screen and the 15" seems like a great choice since it's lighter, thinner and overall more portable than the 16" and I don't see myself needing to oompf of the Pro or Ultra chips.

I'm not specifically a web dev but I'm using web-based stacks for the UI of my apps. So I guess that counts?

Yes, went with 24GB RAM. I'm seeing swap already so even 24GB isn't entirely enough. I guess if there was an option to go 32GB, I would have gone with that. Basically, for development and debugging work, every little bit helps.

Screen is fantastic. It's really hard for me to go back to the 14" MacBook Pro now based on real estate alone. It's like having a 16" MacBook Pro but with less weight than the 14". I can make do with performance. The screen real estate is far more important for my workflow. Whereas I was really trying to find space to fit Chrome DevTools before, it's far easier now to have all of it on the side. I also don't have to squint to read texts, which is a massive bonus.

But... having said that, I think if you're used to the 13" footprint, this will feel a bit much. It's a very big device. Don't be fooled by the Air moniker. It's super big in width and length. If you'd prefer a more compact device for travels, this isn't it. It's lighter than the 14" Pro, but it's not small in footprint. It's closer to the 16" MacBook Pro in footprint than it looks.

So if you're okay with that caveat, go for it.
