I seem to remember some speculation about an iWork app that would be the corollary to 'Documents to Go' for iWork, but haven't heard anything recently.

Any news/rumors of such an app making an appearance with OS 3.0?

They were really late to the iDisk app, so I'd think some third party will get to it first.

I doubt. iWork is not as widely used as Office. iDisk app will let you view iWork files but not edit them. If it's going to get done , it will have to be by Apple. With the exception of the latest Readdle update, there is not one app on the store that can even view iWork 09 formats.

That being said, Apple may never come out with an iWork mobile app. Generally it's the hardcore users that do editing on the phones and they all use Office. Generally speaking, iWork users are casual users who don't need compatibility but ease of use and aesthetics. Even as of right now, most (~70%) Mac users use Office and not iWork.

I religiously use iWork and prefer it much more than Office, something about it just “works” better than Office – go figure! I would love to see an app developed though similar to Documents To Go – which I used on my blackberry before iPhones – and it was great being able to edit docs, spreadsheets, etc and send the revised versions. We can always wish.

I realized something I forgot to mention the first time around, they could possibly also integrate it with iwork.com similar to how idisk works but with all the features available.

I think if it was on there people would use it. It's not something people are calling for, but would be very useful.
