Any word if Ibooks will include textbooks?

It does, although it will take time before every publisher is on board. Until then, you could have a semester where every book is available and one with none.

Not sure if highlighting is there right now, but I imagine it will be.

even if i were to have 1 cheaper ebook and one less heavy book to lug around i'd be happy.

Coursesmart.com already does this. They have an app for the iPhone and are making one specifically for the iPad. I buy all my textbooks from Coursesmart. Check 'em out, they do include highlighting and taking notes.

Sweet thanks for the heads up i don't have an iphone or touch so ipad is looking a little more appealing i'll still probably force myself to hold of until g2 tho

Depends on your book publisher. My school uses ebooks, but the company they use refuses to use anything other than native software. One of the reason I like the HP Slate is I can install their native software right on the slate and take my textbooks with me.

Plus, used books are a large source of revenue for campus book stores. I don't see them going without a fight.

my professors decides the books not the school if there happens to be an e-version of the book i want its up to me if i want it or not.

Professors do pick the book. But depending on the school, the professor gets to pick the book from a "list" of books.

I'm not criticising Apple. I'm just saying there is another dynamic to look at.

Plus, not every textbook is e-book friendly. I'm pretty sure the single use Lab books will still be paperback.
